Jan Yager wrote down her insights and perceptions to share with her son to help guide and advise him, once he had left the nest. Insights and truths she has learned from years of research, writing, consulting, and life experience.
What resulted is a collection of helpful, inspired nuggets of wisdom entitled Road Signs on Life's Journey. It is a book that we can all benefit from reading and referring to again and again.
The book's layout is interesting. The words are displayed inside graphic shapes, many images reminding one of actual road signs. It makes the book very readable, the kind that you can pick up at any time, open to a page and read practical and uplifting words. Often the very words you need to hear at the time.
While most of the advice and wisdom contained in the book, has been written by the author, there is also a nice addition of quotes and sayings, penned by other authors, who are credited for their insights.
Dr. Yager has written several books on such topics as friendships, time management, writing, business, grieving, and learning, among others. Road Signs on Life's Journey contains truths and insights developed from hours of in-depth research and exploration of these topics.
Included in the book is a place for inputting our thoughts and ideas. Jan Yager has added a list of unforgettable books and plays that have influenced her and encourages us to make our own list too. What we think of a particular book or play can reveal a lot about us. The book closes with pages designed for us to add our words of wisdom and those of our family, friends and teachers. This is a great way to make the book truly special and personal.
